Kimberley Cruises for Singles

It can be frustrating for single travellers looking for a good value Kimberley coastal cruise. Most cruise offers are based on twin or double share and it can be prohibitively expensive for a single traveller to have such a cabin on their own. This may well change in the future as the travel industry, in general, catches up with the increasing demand from single travellers. Eventually, a more equitable situation will develop for single travellers but in the meantime here are some Kimberley cruise options where single travellers can get a fair price.

Best Options For Kimberley Cruises For Singles

Scenic Eclipse II

This wonderful new vessel is re-setting the standard for expedition style cruising in the Kimberley and beyond. With all balcony suites accommodation and a truly all inclusive expedition experience with dining, beverages, discover excursions and entertainment all included.

The best offer in the Kimberley for solo travellers (or couples requiring two cabins!) is the 100% off solo supplement.

This offer with a 100% saving is currently available on 19 June and 8 August 2024.

Based on the 8 August, cabin category DB, and 100% solo discount the cruise price is $21,270 – not bad for a huge cabin with balcony.

Coral Discoverer, Coral Adventurer, Coral Geographer

These three sister ships operate 10 night itineraries between Broome and Darwin and vice versa and are some of the most popular ships in the Kimberley. They each have a limited number of cabins available for single travellers:

No-Sole-Supplement: April, May or June 2024 on Coral Adventurer & Coral Geographer in Promenade & Explorer Deck Staterooms Only.

Promenade Deck $15,500

Explorer Deck (with private balcony) $20,600

Includes 1 free night’s accommodation in either Broome or Darwin

(note full payment required with 7 days of reservation for these specials)

Eco Abrolhos

A much smaller vessel than Le Bellot with a more intimate and relaxed style is the Eco Abrolhos; a 35m catamaran that takes 32 passengers in 17 rooms. Their 13-night itineraries between Broome and Darwin showcase all the must-see Kimberley icons with plenty of opportunities to fish, walk and (above the croc line) swim.

Lower deck single bunk (solo use) $13,740 for 2024 departures

This cabin has bunk beds so you can use the spare bunk as storage.

Opt To Share (and hope you don’t have to!)

Some of the smaller ships operating out of Broome offer an ‘opt to share’ booking process. In this instance you can book at the twin person price in the acknowledgment that you may end up sharing with someone of the same gender. However if no other person books then you end up with the cabin on your own with no extra to pay! It is a bit of a gamble but we think around 50% of the time our passengers end up not sharing.

Ships that offer this facility include True North, Kimberley Quest and Odyssey.
