Wyndham Port – Kununurra

A courtesy vehicle will pick up you up from your accommodation in Kununurra and drive you to Ocean Dream at Wyndham Port, about one hour’s drive. Begin your cruise with a cold drink as you cruise out of the Cambridge Gulf watching the the beautiful sunset. Unpack, meet your fellow adventurers and enjoy a delicious dinner served on the rear deck, then get settled whilst we cruise through the night towards the Berkley River.

Join a tender vessel excursion to explore the beautiful Berkeley River, with towering gorges, waterfalls and sandstone cliffs. We discover the head of this incredible river system and the myriad of animal species that call this place home. We discover freshwater swimming holes and there is the opportunity for a spot of fishing.

King George River, King George Falls

At high tide we cross the sandbars of the King George River and make our way up to the falls. The King George River has the highest twin falls in Western Australia, at over 80m. Experience the incredible power of the falls as Ocean Dream is manoeuvred up close. For those that are feeling adventurous, there is a hike to the top of the falls and a freshwater swim.

Koolama Bay

We visit the MV Koolama stranding site and survivor camp at Koolama Bay. In 1942, a Japanese air attack bombed the Koolama and it is significant to the Kwini people who helped the 180 passengers and crew to reach safety. Beach and waterfall excursion in this beautiful location.

Vansittart Bay, Jar Island

Tender vessel excursion out to Jar Island to explore the fascinating Gwion Gwion art, also known as Bradshaw Art. Named after Joseph Bradshaw who in 1891 became the first European to record these amazing paintings. Unique to the Kimberley region, Gwion Gwion art is recorded to be over 17,000 years old. Opportunity to walk to the crash site of DC3 aircraft which crashed in 1942, located on the eastern side of Vansittart Bay. Evening steam around Cape Londonderry, the most northern tip of Western Australia.

Visit one of the largest sandstone islands and home to some amazing Bradshaw and Wandjina art. This is a great area for fishing and exploring some remote beautiful beaches to stretch your legs.

Hunter River, Mitchell Falls Helicopter Flight

the Bonaparte Archipelago. Arriving at the Hunter River, one of the most picturesque places in the Kimberley, there will be plenty of fishing on offer. Scenic cruise along Porosus Creek and optional helicopter flights will be available over the multi-tiered Mitchell Falls.

Prince Regent River, King Cascade Falls​

Experience the King Cascade Falls from the bow of Ocean Dream as she is manoeuvred directly under the waterfalls. Take a hike up to the top pool for a freshwater swim and later there is the opportunity to fish in the St. George Basin.

Montgomery Reef, Red Cone Creek – Ruby Falls​

Montgomery reef is a diverse coral reef system that appears to rise on a falling tide. Only accessible by boat, the reef attracts an abundance of marine life including fish, crabs, turtles, manta rays, dugongs and crocodiles. Later on, we will explore Red Cone Creek with a spot of fishing or mud crabbing, followed by a swim at the beautiful Ruby Falls.

Talbot Bay, Horizontal Waterfalls

The Horizontal Falls are one of the natural wonders of the Kimberley. Guests have the option of taking a fast boat ride through the falls and a scenic helicopter flight for an aerial view. We take a tender vessel excursion up Cyclone Creek to explore the incredible rock formations created billions of years ago. Fascinating wildlife to be observed in water and on land.

Silica Beach, Crocodile Creek

Silica Beach is located on Hidden Island and forms part of the 800 islands of the Buccaneer Archipelago. Named after the high content of Silica in the sand, the beach is a lovely place to swim and stretch your legs. Enjoy an expedition up Crocodile Creek and a freshwater swim in a spring fed waterhole. Anchorage overnight in one of the many beautiful creeks.

Broome

Ocean Dream will arrive in Broome where we say our goodbyes. After a final delicious breakfast, a coach transfer will take guests to their Broome accommodation or the airport. Disembarkation is approximately at 8:30am.
